Write Up Your Street

Commissioned Community Website Project

Homepage screen shot

I was commissioned to design and build Write Up Your Street, a community writing project that encouraged people living in Gloucestershire to share stories, memories and reflections about their local area.

The website was designed to be welcoming, easy to navigate and accessible to a wide range of contributors.

Although the original funded project later came to an end, I successfully secured funding to keep the website online so that the stories and community contributions could continue to be accessed and enjoyed.

My role

✔ Website design and build

✔ Content strategy and organisation

✔ Regular newsletter creation and distribution

✔ Recruiting and supporting contributors

✔ Animated explainer video production

✔ Community engagement and communications

✔ Accessibility focused design

I have worked with Barnwood Trust and Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust reviewing communications for accessibility and inclusive language

I enjoy helping community organisations communicate clearly through websites, branding, newsletters, social media and accessible content.
